Initiated by the National Library of
Romania and funded by the Orange Foundation through the "World through Color and Sound" Program, the "Sound of Pages" project aims to create and develop the largest digital library for the blind.
Through this project, the National Library aims to bring together all digital documents and works accessible to blind people under a single collection. The digital collection will be exponentially developed by constantly adding scanned and made accessible documents with the help of an advanced scanner purchased through the project. Visually impaired users will have free online access to this digital library both at the Library's headquarters and from any other location using an ID and a password.
Access to the documents in this digital collection is made by selecting the database "Digital Library for the Blind" from the Online catalogue of the National Library of Romania.
